Double Entry Blog Post #1 Education Needs a Digital Upgrade

In today's world, having computer and internet skills is nearly as important as being able to write an essay or learning a history lesson. Students are going out and figuring out how to do things such as make blogs or podcasts on their own, why not include these things in your everyday classroom material? The students would be more interested in this kind of material and while teaching them this, you could include your history lesson. For example, have the class make a blog from the viewpoint of a Civil War soldier. In this activity, they would learn history, writing skills and blogging skills all at the same time. The list of positive reasons for using technology in the classroom outweighs the negative reasons greatly.

Introductory

Hello Everyone,

I am from a small area called Freeport, which is in Preston County, West Virginia. After graduation with a degree in Elementary Education, I hope to teach a 2nd or 3rd grade class. I'm pretty sure most Elementary teachers teach all subjects, but if given the choice, I would love to teach history or math. Hope everyone has a nice weekend. :)
